Job Description :
This leading energy company who specialise in heat pumps to provide renewable heating and cooling for buildings across the country now require a Mechanical Design Engineer to work on projects which vary from relatively small domestic kits to significant commercial installations, involving, external pipe work and internal mechanical and electrical installations. You will be based in Falmouth in Cornwall working as part of a team and taking the lead role in the plant room design and specification for closed loop geothermal systems and be sufficiently flexible to undertake a number of duties. This will include an understanding of specifications and drawings, contract and contract conditions and obligations, current building regulations, codes of practice and legislative requirements. You will also have a good knowledge of ground loop hydraulic modelling, production of schematic and layout drawings and be capable of checking drawings produced by others for accuracy. You will liaise with other building services designers and the collation and presentation of O + M manuals and other documentation and assist with the preparation of tenders for new works. You should be educated to degree level and have gained previous experience in the construction industry either with a previous consultant or contractor and have a good working knowledge of building services and HVAC systems. You will be able to communicate effectively at all levels and play a proactive role with their professional design teams
