Job Description

Brady Corporation is looking for a highly motivated, results-oriented Facilities Manager. This individual will be responsible for maintenance and upkeep of the Branford Facilities. The individual will supervise and coordinate all activities related to the successful operation of the maintenance department in the fulfillment of demands for creation and modification of parts, breakdown repair, new equipment and tooling for existing/new product development, existing product manufacturing, preventive maintenance, facility and office moves, machine repair, electrical and electronics and building maintenance. This individual maintains the quality level and monitors performance of internal and external maintenance team members. Initiates and implements continuous improvement projects relating to machinery and processing methods consistent with Lean Manufacturing principles. These projects include leading or participating in cross team and departmental initiatives. Prepares and manages the department budget. Participates in operations management team and supports projects/initiatives agreed upon by the team. Provides technical assistance to engineering, manufacturing, and vendors with respect to the creation and modification of parts, equipment, electronics and tooling. This individual will recommend purchasing of capital equipment, supplies and tools for the department. They will maintain departments’ compliance to OSHA and other regulatory standards as required. They will determine when the need exists to send jobs outside of the company due to timeline considerations or maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Position requires a proven track record of troubleshooting machine breakdowns and failures. Requires the ability to solve urgent and chronic problems, both individually and as part of cross-functional teams. Proficient in the understanding and interpretation of drawings, up-to-date knowledge of Machine/Maintenance shop best practices and equipment. Needs to effectively lead and develop internal/external team and communicate at all levels of the organization. Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP), ISO, TPM, quality improvement activities, yield improvement and Lean Manufacturing activities is also required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 3 plus years of operations, maintenance management, manufacturing management or engineering experience.

• Experience in driving equipment improvements, process optimization, lean manufacturing events and procedure development.

• Must be proficient with normally accepted office productivity software. (i.e. Email, MS Word, Excel, etc).

Desired Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Bachelors of Science degree preferable in an Engineering related discipline

• Prior experience in manufacturing printing environment Basic proficiency in CAD/CAM tools.
