Barrier West, Inc. (BWI) is a privately owned Corporation based in Hoquiam, WA. BWI is involved in biomass utilization, logistics and transportation and setting the standard for sustainable operations in support of Grays Harbor Paper (ghpaper.com).

Primary Responsibilities:

-Organize and implement special projects with the President

Projects would be in the areas of:

-Waste wood biomass/ green power/ renewable energy
-Close loop transportation logistics
-100% post consumer FSC certified paper sales
-Continuous improvement and lowering carbon footprint in manufacturing systems
-Waste stream synergies
-Renewable transportation fuels (biomass based)
-Act as liaison between business units and departments
-Identify successes and challenges while constantly re-evaluating our processes and systems
-Coordinate projects with executive management team, communications team, sales, and finance, manufacturing, administration, potential and current end users

Required Qualifications:

-Efficient and persistent with experience managing and juggling diverse tasks and projects with minimal supervision
-Demonstrated interest/experience in sustainability as it applies to business
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-Ability to be flexible and take an optimistic approach to new challenges
-Professionalism and presentation skills able to deal with politicians and business executives
-Able to work in a fast paced environment
-Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

BA, Certificate or MBA preferred with 2+ years of business experience or education in Sustainability
